Kim Bainbridge Photography

Kim Bainbridge is the photographer behind Kim Bainbridge Photography. After years of taking photography as a hobby, she realised it had blossomed into a full-fledged passion. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, and the recent completion of her qualifications, she decided it was time to transform her hobby into a business.

Unsure of where to begin, Kim sought guidance as part of the Enterprising North Programme, where she met Shirley her business advisor who proved invaluable in navigating the beginning of Kim’s business. Shirley provided essential documentation, from step-by-step instructions, and business support throughout the journey.

Kim also received support through workshops on sustainable business practices, branding, social media, and marketing. With this comprehensive support and guidance, Kim successfully established her event photography business.

It was in Newcastle that Kim’s passion for photography truly ignited. Disappointed with her travel photos, she dedicated herself to learning the craft. Through online courses and eventually, her education at Newcastle City Learning and Newcastle College, she ultimately honed her skills. Despite initial aspirations of becoming a travel photographer, Kim’s career path took an unexpected turn.

A focus on still-life photography during the COVID-19 pandemic led to academic success and award-winning recognition from Newcastle College (Pink Lady) supported by the Royal Photographic Society. Through a combination of perseverance, education, and support, Kim has built a successful photography business – now focusing on wedding photography.
