Celebrating the Sustainable Creative Programme

In 2023, PNE joined forces with Creative Central Newcastle to launch a successful nine-month program, The Sustainable Creative. This exciting new initiative empowered aspiring entrepreneurs to build thriving creative and cultural businesses.

The Sustainable Creative programme was designed to inspire the participants to think creatively from a business viewpoint. In-depth materials and workshops provided a creative spark, while practical skill-building sessions equipped them with the tools needed to launch their businesses with confidence.

"The Art of" networking events were an innovative and new part of the programme. In short, These weren't your typical business gatherings!! They were unique opportunities for program members to develop their professional skills in a fun, supportive environment. Participants could hone their networking abilities, practice their creative skills on equipment like photo lightboxes and podcasting kits, and exchange ideas with like-minded individuals. These events even provided unique opportunities such as test-trading at the Ouseburn Creative Market and pitching at Alphabetti Theatre, allowing them to gain valuable real-world experience and transferable skills.

"The supportive network of organisers, enriched with comprehensive knowledge has been my guiding light during the start-up process. The thoughtfully created workshops have not only enlightened me but ignited inspiration and urged me to think beyond conventional boundaries"

The Sustainable Creative exceeded expectations, sparking the launch of 13 new businesses and empowering 20 creative entrepreneurs with over 205 hours of personalised support. Participants emphasised the programme's success in fostering a supportive community and boosting their confidence as key takeaways, and the group still meet and keeps in touch over WhatsApp now the project has ended.

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for this! I wasn’t really sure what to expect but genuinely felt like I was gonna cry, it is such an amazing opportunity"

The most rewarding aspect for the PNE team was building relationships with programme members, and delving into their creative journeys and inspirations. We're excited to witness their future successes and remain committed to supporting them as they launch their businesses!
